I knew Mitzi as one of my Red Hat friends. For the past 16 years we shared many good lunches, dinners and excursions, most recently this past February in celebration of the Chinese New Year. I will miss Mitzi's smile, her energy and her love for a good time!

Mitzi was a great woman, a great lady and a great friend and a great neighbor. I've known her as a cooking columnist published in the Paterson Morning Call, President of the Pines Lake Woman's Club, President of the Pines Lake Garden Club and as a member of the Jersey Tomatoes red hat club since the first meeting. I'll miss her spirit, her independence, her creativity and her leadership.

I met Mitzi for the first time when I joined the Jersey Tomatoes Red Hat Society. I always enjoyed sitting next to her for many reasons, one being that she could speak intelligently about any subject brought up. She was a true Lady! Although she has left us , many good memories will remain. Jane Van eeuwen

On behalf of the Tri-State Hosta Society I wish to extend our condolences to the family of Mitzi Schroeder, one of our members for many years. She was our hospitality lady until she was well into her eighties...a gracious woman, who "set" the table at all of our indoor meetings, always welcoming members with a smile and a warm greeting. She will be missed by all who knew her.
