Pasquale Fasolino

Pasquale Fasolino, age 72 of Oak Ridge, died on Easter Sunday, April 16, 2017. He had lived in Oak Ridge since 1972.

Pasquale grew up in Avellino, Italy, very near to Naples. Life was difficult in post-war Italy and his family made arrangements to come to America. At thirteen years old, he boarded a ship and sailed across the Atlantic with the American Dream in his heart. He vividly recalled coming through New York Harbor and laying eyes on the Statue of Liberty when he arrived. His father had come earlier and had a home established in Paterson, NJ. He sent Pasquale off to trade school where he learned to be a stone mason. He worked for Bergen Bluestone with his father and was involved with many area projects, including some landmark work such as in Rockefeller Plaza. Many area residents will recall the granite and marble waterfall that used to be in Paramus Park mall, next to the glass elevators; Pasquale helped to put that together. His handiwork is also present on numerous residential fireplaces, granite steps, and tile work all around the area.

Pasquale was not all about work though. He was a devoted father and never missed a single one of his kid’s activities or games. He was always there for them. He loved going to Wildwood where he could just hang out on the beach and soak up the sun’s rays. He was all about family and when grandkids came along, he never missed any of their activities either. He knew how to have fun, loved to laugh, and his family will all miss him dearly.

Pasquale is survived by his two children; Dawn Hueck and her husband Paul of Oak Ridge, and Pasquale “Pat” Fasolino, Jr. and his wife Dawn of Pompton Lakes, three grandchildren; Pasquale III, Amanda, and Paul. He is also survived by one brother; Alfonso and his wife Elizabeth of Wayne, and a sister; Anna Saveriano and her husband Antonio of Ramsey.

Friends may visit with the family at the Vander May Wayne Colonial Funeral Home, 567 Ratzer Road, Wayne, on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 from 4-8 PM.

Funeral Services will be held at 9 AM on Thursday, April 20, 2017 from the funeral home, then to Our Lady of Consolation RC Church, Wayne, where at 10 AM a Funeral Mass will be offered. Entombment will follow at the Calvary Mausoleum in Paterson.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Pasquale's name may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 30 East 33rd Street, New York, NY 10010.
