Rose Marie Johnson

Rose Marie Johnson (Luciano), age 68 of Wayne passed away peacefully on September 29, 2017 while receiving the loving care of her family.

Rose Marie was born in and raised in Paterson. She graduated high school with the class of 1966 where she met the love of her life Barry Johnson whom she went on to marry on September 15, 1968 at Our Lady of Pompeii.

Barry and Rose Marie settled in Wayne where they raised their two children. She was an amazing cook, who also proudly decorated her home according to the seasons and holidays. She could also be found in the garden caring for her flowers.

Rose Marie's career as a Para Professional with the Wayne Board of Education was a passion for her. Her caring and loving nature carried over into her work for twenty-nine years. Though she was looking forward to retirement, she would miss the children and staff she grew to love.

Above all of her talents and interests, her greatest love was for her family. Whether it was in the pride she had in her children, her cherished time with her grandchildren or quiet times with Barry, home was truly where her heart was.

Rose Marie was an extraordinary person who touched the lives of many people and will be missed by her family and friends alike.

Rose Marie is survived by her devoted husband of 49 years Barry Johnson of Wayne and brother Dan DeFeo of Wayne. Loving mother to daughter Keri Johnson of Woodland Park, and her son Keith Johnson and his wife Alysha of Wyckoff. Dear Barry, Keri, Keith and family...I'm so saddened by the passing of your beautiful wife, mother and grandmother, Rose Marie. Ever since I was part of your family from the age of 14, Rose Marie embraced me like a sister and friend. She was kind and beautiful inside and out. Her warm smile and heart of gold radiated outwardly to everyone. She was someone I admired and loved and I know she will be very missed. I'm praying and asking God to bless all of you with His peace and comfort during this difficult time. With love, Debbie Troisi & Family ooxxoo

Dear Barry and family, As you know Rose Marie and I were childhood friends when we lived on Dixon Ave. We both babysat our younger siblings Kathy and Danny. We had to stop playing and walk them in the carriage. I recently saw you both in Little Falls. To your family I'm sending my heartfelt sympathy. She will by missed by all who loved her. Love Carol
