Carmine L. Gallo, known lovingly as “Carm,” of Wayne, New Jersey, passed away on September 28, 2026, at the age of 87. A devoted family man who was always ready to help, Carmine lived a life defined by hard work, loyalty, and a generous spirit.
Born on February 16, 1939, in Paterson, New Jersey, Carmine grew up in the city that shaped him. He was the son of the late Louis N. Gallo and Sara Gallo. After graduating from Eastside High School, he served his country with pride in the United States Army from 1961 to 1963.
Carmine later built a successful business as the owner of Gallo’s Trophy Shop in Paterson, where he was known not only for his craftsmanship but for the way he treated every customer and neighbor. He was an avid golfer and lifelong sports enthusiast, a former member of the North Jersey Country Club, as well as a former member of the North Haledon Chapter of Unico and a proud member and past president of the Fidelians in North Haledon.
Above all, Carmine’s greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Jeanette (Markowski) Gallo; his daughters Lisa DiLullo and her husband Mark of Rancho Cucamonga, California, Michelle Sasso and her husband Paul of Totowa, New Jersey, his step-sons Dr. Christopher Spagnuola and his wife Vanessa of Fair Haven, New Jersey, Ralph Spagnuola and his wife Danielle of Middletown, New Jersey; his grandchildren Nicole Duran and her husband Ryan, Kayla DiLullo, Alexa and Danielle Sasso, Jack, Connor, Braiden, Leo, Mae and Grace Spagnuola; and great-grandchildren Roman and Santino Duran.
Also surviving him are his sister Frances DeVita and her husband Joseph of Wyckoff, New Jersey; his brothers Louis Gallo Jr. and his wife Nina of Lighthouse Point, Florida, Robert F. Gallo and his wife Nancy of North Haledon, and Edward Gallo and his wife Rene of Venice, Florida, as well as his large extended family including his many loving nieces, nephews and their families.
