On Saturday, August 8, 2026 a 10 AM Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Laurel Grove Memorial Park in Totowa, NJ.
Susan L. Enderly-Peracchio, age 63, of Wayne, passed away on Monday, August 3, 2026 surrounded by her loving family.
Born on January 23, 1963, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Paterson, Susan entered the world alongside her identical twin sister, Karen. The daughter of the late W. James Enderly and Ethel Van Der Horn (née Douma), Susan spent her childhood on Mair Avenue in Totowa before moving to Clifton. She graduated from Passaic Valley High School in 1981. At Passaic Valley, she was named captain of the gymnastics team and participated in Girl Show on the Green Dance Team. She spent her summers making everlasting memories as a lifeguard at the Totowa Town Pool. Susan went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communicative Theory and Practice from Montclair State University in 1985.
Following college, Susan held positions with Artistic Academy, Pony Marketing, and Transworld, gaining valuable experience while showcasing her warm personality and strong work ethic. Over the next 30 years, Susan welcomed four children and embraced her role as a homemaker with boundless enthusiasm, dedicating herself to raising her family and becoming their biggest supporter. Whether cheering from the sidelines, volunteering at school, or encouraging every new endeavor, she was a constant source of love and encouragement.
Later in life, Susan found her perfect calling as the Activities Coordinator at Brightview in Wayne, a role she held for five years. The position seemed made especially for her, allowing her to share her creativity, compassion, humor, and infectious enthusiasm with residents whose lives she enriched every day. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her there.
Susan also devoted herself to serving her community. She was an active member of Republican politics in New Jersey, serving as a State Committeewoman and being honored as Woman of the Year in 2017. She dedicated 17 years to the Wayne Board of Adjustment, was involved with the Wayne Historical Society, and was an active member of the Morris County Women's Republican organization. Susan's faith was an important part of her life. As a devoted member of the United Methodist Church in Wayne, she participated in numerous activities throughout the years.
Her greatest joy, however, was her family. Susan was the quintessential hockey and lacrosse mom, helping establish the girls' lacrosse program for the Wayne PAL and traveling all across the country for hockey tournaments. She found great joy in serving as an active PTO mom by leading Art Appreciation and teaching her kids and their classmates what she enjoyed most – the history of art and creativity. Among her many creative accomplishments, she proudly wrote the alma mater for A.P. Terhune School. Susan always made sure to go the extra mile so her children had the best for all of their biggest milestones – every first day of school, going off to college, showers and weddings.
Susan was an arts and crafts enthusiast who loved nothing more than demonstrating her uncanny ability to outmatch everyone in trivia. If you knew her, you also knew that she was a movie connoisseur and loved to quote her favorite lines. She was an avid tennis player known for wearing her signature Lilly Pulitzer popovers every week. Lilly Pulitzer became her signature style, reflecting Susan’s bright, cheerful and one-of-a-kind spirit. That same reflective style shined through at her home during the holidays – a perfectly themed Christmas tree in every room, her beloved nativity scene made by her mother, the snowy holiday village display, but most iconic was her 18-foot Christmas tree that she spent weeks meticulously decorating. Susan made lasting memories and friendships while sitting ring side at The Westminster Dog Show for over 30 years. But without a doubt her happiest place was Stone Harbor, New Jersey, where she had endless memories with her family, body surfed countless waves, and never missed a walk on her beloved shell path.
Susan is survived by her beloved children: John E. Peracchio and his wife, Tara, of Cranford; Danielle Bascelli and her husband, Chris, of Butler; Taylor Peracchio of Wayne; and James Peracchio of New York City. She is also survived by her brother, James Enderly and his partner, Steve Himber, of Englewood; her identical twin sister, Karen Enderly, of Lincoln Park. She was predeceased by her parents, W. James Enderly and Ethel Van Der Horn (née Douma).
Susan was truly one of a kind and will be remembered for her generous heart, boundless energy, quick wit, creative spirit, and extraordinary ability to make everyone feel welcomed and valued. Her legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched and, in the family, she loved so deeply.
Her family finds comfort in knowing that Susan's warmth, compassion, and joyful spirit will never be forgotten. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
