A funeral service will take place beginning at 7 PM on Tuesday, September 1, 2026.
Timothy Watson, age 64, of Wayne, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 15, 2026.
Tim was born the second of three children to James and Patricia Watson, and he grew up in the Packanack Lake section of Wayne, New Jersey. As a kid he fell in love with hockey and became a lifelong fan of the New York Rangers. A goaltender himself, his friends always wanted him to join them for their pickup games so they had someone in net to shoot on. It was the position no one else wanted to play but Tim loved it and never disappointed. Tim went on to attend and graduate from DePaul Catholic High School.
From there, Tim built a career working with his hands as a painter, landscaper, and tradesman of nearly every kind. A jack of all trades, he took pride in being able to turn his skills to whatever job needed doing. For several years he traded the East Coast for the West, moving to California with his friend Andrew Hill to enjoy life on the Pacific Coast before eventually making his way back home to New Jersey.
Above all, Tim was the kind of guy everyone wanted as a friend. He was a kind soul who liked skiing, fishing, and spending time with friends. He especially loved beach vacations to West Point Island in Lavallette, where he spent many summers alongside the Hensen family, building memories that will be treasured for years to come.
Tim will be deeply missed by everyone lucky enough to have known him.
He is predeceased by his mom Patricia Watson and his dad James Watson.
Tim is survived by his brothers Brian Watson and Chris Watson and his wife Kathryn Watson, nee Mudry.
